Intern Meeting Notes June 16

Intern meeting June 16 @ 10am @ Showboat House

Present: All Interns except Molly and Mariyah (who was playing in a softball game!). Also, Haley joined us for the first time since Little Shop and Into the Woods responsibilities, and we're happy to have her around more often!
Thank you for a wonderful week. I’m so proud of all your hard work with Into the Woods, Ivan the Terrier, City Mouse Country Mouse, and Dream Eater. I’m excited for our work together on Bye Bye Birdie these next few weeks.
Here are the main points from today’s meeting:

BYE BYE BIRDIE
  • No cell phones in the rehearsal space - wait until the green room or a break (Kristin will tally some push ups for you if this becomes a problem)
  • ALWAYS arrive 5-15 minutes early
  • ALWAYS warm up your voice and your body before rehearsal
  • ALWAYS take notes during every rehearsal. Anything that you know you’ll have to remember later, write it down. Do not trust your memory. Also, it shows Tommy, Drew, and Brian that you care about their notes to you. Even a tiny note like when Drew says "BIEBER ME!" Anything that will help you practice at home the same way you sang it in rehearsal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WRITE IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Check the blog schedule of Bye Bye Birdie every day. When in doubt, call me to ask. If I can’t answer, call Nicki (401-835-2316)
  • All Bye Bye Birdie conflicts must go to Nicki NOW.
HONK! Jr.
  • You should have your script by now
  • Your research topics can be simple Google Searches, YouTube videos, encyclopedias, etc. Just make a note of where you found the information. We will share this at our first Honk Company meeting.
  • Highlight your lines and write in pencil. The script belongs to the showboat.
  • The schedule for performances will be a little different because of city festivities on July 28th. Please let me know if there is a scheduling issue with a HONK performance July 29th at noon instead. (that means we'll perform twice: Friday, July 27th at 7:30pm and Sunday, July 29th at 12pm)
GENERAL NOTES
  • Get those tech hours and record them.
  • July 4th may include a performance of The City Mouse and the Country Mouse or a time to participate in festivities.
  • July 28th Children’s Theatre performance is canceled.
INTERNS OF THE WEEK
  • Alice Lind - Thank you for your help this week with Dream Eater, organizing, and leading the discussion! You’re always willing to help!
  • Taylor Weibers - Thank you for putting up with my antics! The cast of ITW thanks you for taking initiative to help in any way that you see.
