Intern Exit Interviews

Thank you for a wonderful party tonight! Merry Christmas to all the Secret Santas. Will and Siara still have gifts to pick up, so I hope to see you at the Opening Reception of Love Letters on Wednesday so we can continue the gift giving there.

Exit Interviews/Auditions

To end the summer and show off what you've learned, you will prepare a song and monologue as an audition package. Today and tomorrow (Monday and Tuesday, the last two days of July) you will choose your song and monologue. Over the next few days, you'll use all you've learned to work on them on your own. Then, next week, you will meet with me to perform them as an audition. The audition time slots are posted on the blog. Please let me know by Thursday if those times do not work for you.

The song should be 16 bars of you singing. The monologue should be 30 seconds long, from a play, and suitable to your age and gender. Preferably, the song and monologue will be contrasting (one is comedic, one is dramatic), but as long as they are not the same character type, you'll be fine.

The audition will consist of you and I on stage at the boat. It will be forty minutes and will include:

  1. Your Slate (Say Your name and your audition pieces)
  2. Your Audition Pieces
  3. Time to work on certain aspects of the audition to bring it to the next level
  4. Discussion of goals for the future
  5. Suggestions for next year's internship program

Keep checking the schedule on the blog for ways to help out at the boat :) Keep in contact with me about your conflicts until August 12! I can't believe it's almost over :(
